The Winterstoke Centenary

The final weekend of the summer term played host to a very special Old Millhillian event - we celebrated the centenary of Winterstoke House.

The former boarding house is now home to Grimsdell Pre Prep. Over 100 Winterstokians gathered on the lawn and we welcomed faces old and new - some that had not visited their school since they left in the sixties.

What is always testament to Mill Hill is the high number of Old Millhillians that choose to send their children to the school. Some of the guests’ fathers had also been resident at Winterstoke and were spotted in the House photos from the early 1900s and interwar years. We were delighted to have Tim Corbett (1983-1995), Winterstoke’s final House Master kick off proceedings along with speeches from David Benson, Head of Mill Hill School and Kate Simon, Head of Grimsdell, before tours of the House and a lunch in the Dining Hall followed by Old Millhillians day into the afternoon.
