At the start of July, we launched our bursary film alongside Mill Hill Calling – a telephone campaign that saw a group of young Old Millhillians contact 622 Old Millhillians and parents. Not only did those that were contacted enjoy speaking with recent leavers, but many chose to generously support Mill Hill School with gifts, large and small, collectively raising over £110,000 which will help us to offer bursary places to deserving pupils in the future and transform the paths of young lives. Old Millhillian and former bursary recipient, Dr Leanne Armitage's, Ridgeway 2011 - 2013 talks to those who choose to support Mill HIll bursaries and the impact they make beyond the individual, here.

Bursaries open the door to a Mill Hill education regardless of a child’s means, it is something that we are proud of and haven’t lost sight of since our school was founded in 1807. When our founders met in the coffee houses of Trafalgar and first envisioned Mill Hill School, they laid the foundation for a community that would welcome talented pupils regardless of status.

More than 10% of school children in Barnet come from families who earn just a fraction of the school fees to attend Mill Hill. Our aim is to dramatically increase the number of bursary recipients at Mill Hill so that 10% of our pupils are in receipt of a transformational bursary.

With your help, Mill Hill will be able to power positive change within our borough and give the opportunity of a Mill Hill education to more bursary pupils in the future.

‘The support that the Bursary has given me goes far beyond financial aid. A bursary is a vote of confidence, it tells us – we believe in your potential, we see your hard work and we want to fuel it.’

Joe R, Burton Bank, Current Bursary Recipient

We have now finished calling, but if you enjoyed talking to our callers, there is still time to support the Bursary Campaign by making a donation online or you can contact Lucia Hull for further information.
