Become a Life Guardian
The Mill Hill School Foundation Schools span from Nursery, age 3 all the way through to Sixth Form, up to age 18. Children can join at any point throughout these years but some Old Millhillians would have grown up at the School and been part of the Foundation for their entire education.
It is no wonder that such strong bonds are formed between pupils and their affiliation to the School remains present for years beyond graduation.
Several opportunities are created to keep Old Millhillians in touch with eachother and with the School. The Life Guardian Committee goes beyond the desire to just keep up to date with the happenings in NW7 and allows members to play an active role in the growth of the School.
Old Millhillian Ciera Radia (Weymouth 2010-12) says it best… “Before I got involved with the Life Guardians I didn’t fully understand their role or appreciate where they fitted into the Mill Hill School Foundation’s hierarchy. Now that I know, I am keen to share my understanding in the hope that it might encourage other OMs to get involved.
The Life Guardians Committee comprises a group of Old Millhillians who have a shared motivation to give something back to the school. We are officially ‘stakeholders’ in the Foundation which translates into taking an active interest in supporting the Court of Governors, the CEO and the Heads of the Foundation Schools. Our aim is to contribute to its continued success and progress.”
All Old Millhillians are eligible to become Life Guardians. A donation is encouraged on becoming a member, followed by a yearly contribution, which goes towards the McClure Scholarship Fund which supports worthy young pupils who would otherwise not be able to afford a Mill Hill education. Young Old Millhillians (YOMS) can defer any contributions until they are 30 so don’t be put off by this!
We look forward to welcoming you on 10 November.
