The day will begin in the morning with drinks on the Winterstoke lawn, with the opportunity to see round the house. A lunch on Top Terrace, or in the Dining Hall if wet, will then follow. After lunch, you will be able to join in the various events of Old Millhillian’s Day, which concludes with refreshments down by the cricket pavilion.
For those hardened Winterstokians who would like to celebrate late into the evening we will be planning a dinner further afield.
We would love you to see you there, making it a truly memorable occasion, with the opportunity to catch up with old friends and share memories of the past. Come and see where you used to live and show your families around. Come and see what has changed and what is just as your knew it. But don’t miss what is likely to be the final reunion of a very special “club”.
Winterstoke House is of course now the home of Grimsdell infant school, a thriving pre-prep, so called after the generous Old Millhillian who made the transformation possible. The Head of Grimsdell, Kate Simon, will be there to welcome us.
The event is free (apart from the evening dinner) and many thanks to the School for its invitation and hospitality. I do hope that you will be there and, as already stated, families are welcome too.
This year marks the 100 year anniversary of the opening of Winterstoke House in 1924 and to recognise this significant centenary we are inviting all former Winterstokians - pupils and tutors, as well as their families - to a day of celebration on Saturday, 22 June 2024.
