In 2021 the Old Millhillians Club is re-launching its career support programme for entrepreneurs. We believe there is strong OM demand for this. Many of you either own your own business or aspire to do so.
The Club intends to organise regular “Skills Development” events that cover subjects of interest and value to current and aspiring entrepreneurs. Moreover. as soon as Covid restrictions are lifted, the Club will be organising a physical networking event at which entrepreneurs can meet like-minded souls.
The first of these events is a virtual event, centred on Business Plan preparation and raising capital for a start-up or a development business. These go hand in hand - investors back a Business Plan and the people behind it.
We are extremely fortunate to have Dipankar Shewaram as our speaker for this event. Dip and the Club’s Chair, Peter Wakeham, sit together on the boards of two companies - one that has raised start-up and subsequent development capital and another that recently raised £1.7million development capital. Dip walks the talk!!
Dip will explain the essential ingredients of a Business Plan and what it takes to make the investment proposition attractive to potential investors. He will then discuss the pros and cons of the alternative sources of capital available to early stage businesses.
We will leave ample time for Q & A and after the event closes formally at 20.00 we will keep the virtual platform open for informal discussions, feedback and also suggestions on future topics for these events.
Zoom instructions will be e mailed to you nearer the time.
