OM Clive Weber welcomes all current and aspirational OM lawyers to a career networking event with a difference. Our speaker will be attending virtually from Sydney, Australia.
Professor Guy S. Goodwin-Gill (Ridgeway 1960 - 65) is one of the world’s foremost experts on Human Rights and International Law including migrants and refugees, elections and democratisation and children’s rights. His book “The Refugee and International Law” was recently published as a fourth edition.
Guy will speak and undertake a Q & A on subjects such as protection for refugees and those affected by statelessness or disasters and the meaning of persecution, including with regard to gender and sexual orientation.
All OMs, whether lawyers or not, seeking a deeper understanding on some of today’s burning issues are welcome to attend. It promises to be a very insightful as well as enjoyable evening.
Guy S. Goodwin-Gill’s career in the legal profession defies all anecdotes about the brains of former Mill Hill School 1st XV props!
He is a formidable barrister and a professor of public international law at Oxford University and a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford. He currently serves as the Acting Director of the Andrew and Renata Kaldor Centre for International Refugee Law at the University of New South Wales.
